About Me
I’m a licensed therapist with a background that bridges education, psychology, and human development. Before becoming a counselor, I spent eighteen years teaching and mentoring adolescents — work that shaped my deep respect for human complexity and the resilience we build through relationship.
Education & Credentials
Master of Arts in Teaching – Lewis & Clark College
Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling – Portland State University
My graduate training included in-depth coursework in counseling theories and interventions, human growth and development, group counseling, diagnosis and treatment, and psychopharmacology.
Experience & Perspective
My years in the classroom taught me how connection creates safety, and safety creates change. In both education and therapy, I’ve seen how people thrive when they feel seen and understood.
Clients often come to me after “doing the work” elsewhere — they’re self-aware, yet still find themselves stuck in familiar patterns. I specialize in helping people bridge the gap between insight and action by bringing attention to what’s happening in the body, the nervous system, and the relational field. This academic foundation informs my practice — but what truly guides my work is curiosity, empathy, and lived experience.
My approach
I integrate attachment theory, relational neuroscience, and nervous-system-informed tools to help clients deepen self-understanding and build new patterns of connection. My style is active and collaborative — I don’t sit silently or offer advice. Instead, I help you recognize what’s unfolding beneath the surface, and develop the capacity to respond rather than react. Clients describe me as grounded, attuned, and direct. I hold space with warmth and respect, but I’m also not afraid to challenge when it’s in service of your growth.
The personal
Outside the therapy room, I’m still learning — still practicing presence, courage, and compassion in my own life. My experience as a trans man has shaped the way I understand transformation: it’s not about becoming someone else, but becoming more fully yourself. Breathwork, meditation, and conscious relating are part of how I stay connected to that process — not as a finished product, but as a fellow traveler doing the work alongside my clients.
